Privacy policy
Novique is an iOS Home Screen and Lock Screen customization app by Coding Protocols. It has no account system, no analytics, and no servers of ours behind it. This page describes exactly what the app touches on your device and why.
1. What We Collect: Nothing
Novique does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to us. The app contains no analytics or tracking SDKs, requires no account or sign-up, and Coding Protocols operates no backend servers for it. We cannot see which widgets you use, which themes you apply, or anything else about how you use the app.
2. Data That Stays on Your Device
Everything Novique needs to work is stored locally, in the app’s own container on your iPhone:
- Widget configurations and theme selections — which widgets you placed and how you styled them.
- Cached widget data — for example a recently fetched weather forecast or repository star count, kept so widgets can render instantly.
- Photos you pick for the Photo Frame widget — selected through Apple’s system photo picker, which runs outside the app. Novique never gains access to your photo library; it only receives the single image you chose, and keeps a downscaled copy locally to render the widget.
Deleting the app removes this data from your device.
3. Health Data (Steps Widget)
If you add the Steps widget, Novique asks for read-only access to your step count through Apple HealthKit. Your step count is read on your device, rendered on your device, and never leaves your device. It is not shared with us or any third party, and it is not used for anything except drawing the widget.
You can revoke this access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. The widget will simply stop updating. The Calendar and Date widgets, for the avoidance of doubt, never request access to your calendar — they compute dates mathematically and cannot see your events.
4. Network Requests You Opt Into
Most Novique widgets work fully offline. A few fetch data from the internet — only if you add and configure them, and only from the service that provides their data:
- Weather — forecasts come from Apple’s WeatherKit for the city you configure. These requests are handled by Apple and governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- GitHub — the widget queries the public GitHub API for the repository you name. If you optionally sign in (to raise rate limits), the sign-in uses GitHub’s device flow and the resulting token is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device — never sent to us. Requests are governed by the GitHub Privacy Statement.
- YouTube — the widget queries the YouTube Data API for the channel you configure, using an API key you supply, stored on your device. Requests are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Crypto — prices come from CoinGecko’s public API for the coins you pick. Cached prices are discarded within 24 hours in line with CoinGecko’s terms. Requests are governed by the CoinGecko Privacy Policy.
Like any internet request, these expose your IP address to the service being contacted. Novique adds no identifiers, no advertising IDs, and no fingerprinting to any request.
5. Purchases
Premium content is sold through Apple’s App Store using StoreKit — as a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, with a free trial. Apple processes the entire transaction. We never see your payment details; Apple provides us only anonymized transaction records needed to unlock what you bought. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings, and purchases are subject to Apple’s standard EULA.
6. Your Rights and Control
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing on our side to access, export, correct, or delete. Control lives entirely on your device:
- Revoke Health access in iOS Settings at any time.
- Disconnect GitHub inside the app to delete its token from your device’s Keychain.
- Delete the app to remove its data from your iPhone.
7. Children’s Privacy
Novique is not directed at children under 13, and — since the app collects no personal data from anyone — it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
If Novique’s data practices ever change — for example, if a future feature introduces a service we operate — this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the “Last Updated” date below will reflect it.

Terms
These Terms govern your use of Novique, an app published by Coding Protocols Private Limited (“Coding Protocols”, “we”, “us”). The Coding Protocols Terms of Service and Cancellation & Refund Policy cover that company’s SaaS and consulting services and both defer to product-specific terms. These are Novique’s; where the two differ, these apply to the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using Novique, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, do not use the app.
2. The App
Novique is a Home Screen and Lock Screen customization app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, offering widget families, widget styles and theme packs. It requires iOS 17 or later. Novique is licensed, not sold.
3. No Account
Novique has no account system and no servers that we operate. There is nothing to register for and nothing to sign in to. Your configuration lives on your device — see the privacy policy above.
4. Purchases, Subscriptions and Refunds
- Free tier — six widget families and five theme packs, free forever, with no trial and no sign-up.
- Pro — $2.99 monthly, $19.99 yearly, or $59.99 as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in USD and may differ by region.
- Apple processes every transaction through the App Store using StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store account settings. The lifetime purchase is one time and does not renew.
- A three-day free trial is offered on the monthly and yearly plans. Eligibility is determined by the App Store, not by us.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. The Coding Protocols Cancellation & Refund Policy governs services billed directly by Coding Protocols and does not apply to App Store purchases.
- Pro is covered by Family Sharing on every plan, for up to six family members.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Novique to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
- Infringe upon the rights of others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, its licensing, or the services it connects to.
- Interfere with or disrupt the app or any third-party service it uses.
- Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
- Violate any intellectual property rights.
6. Intellectual Property
Novique — including its theme packs, widget designs, graphics, icons and software — is the exclusive property of Coding Protocols Private Limited and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display or otherwise exploit them without our express written permission. Photographs you supply to the Photo Frame widget remain yours.
7. Third-Party Services
Some widgets fetch data from third parties, and only if you add and configure them: Apple WeatherKit, the GitHub API, the YouTube Data API and CoinGecko. Your use of those services is subject to each provider’s own terms. We do not control them and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or changes. Where a widget uses an API key you supply, you are responsible for complying with that provider’s terms.
8. Data and Privacy
Your use of Novique is also governed by the privacy policy above. Novique collects no personal data and Coding Protocols operates no backend for it.
9. Availability and Disclaimer
Novique is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Widgets that depend on third-party data may not always update. No service level agreement or uptime guarantee applies to the app.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coding Protocols Private Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, use or goodwill, resulting from your use of Novique. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for Novique in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using Novique at any time by deleting it, and cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings. We may discontinue the app or any feature of it. All provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, disclaimers and limitations of liability.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of Novique after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the app are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
